Duke and Hanover Packet Sailed From Falmouth

In Falmouth on December 19 the Goodridge Duke packet boat sailed for Corunna and the Williams Hanover packet boat sailed for Lisbon.

Spaniard and ships seized near Plymouth in late 17th century record

The Spaniard named St. Joseph of St Sebastian's from Haute Girace or Vannes with wine and can stones, and Joseph Gatper Ferrys from Amsterdam, bound for Sc. Euttacia, were seized by English cruisers in the West Indies and carried to Antigua. A Newfoundland brig was seized by a privateer and taken to the Canaries. The Buscawen, Jenkins, from Newfoundland to Leghorn, was engaged by a French warship and the Bolwea crew suffered casualties. Captain Jenkins wounded. The Fair Lady from Barca does bound to Liverpoole arrived in the Orkneys. the Mary and Union from London for Dublin put into Mil tor a with a gale. The Surprize from London for Africa put into Portsmouth. Royal affairs: Parliament adjourned to Jan 19. Charles Pratt named Lord Chief Justice. Charles Yorke to be Attorney General. Christopher D’Oyly to War Office. Col Hotham and others arrived in Parliament. Townshend and Pembroke back from Germany. Sir John Cust and MPs head to Bath.
