Last Tuesday a man of war failed from Dover with the mails for Flanders as there was no packet boat on this side to carry them over We may hear soon if all mails due from Flanders are safe at Flushing or if any were captured Over a thousand letters arrived from Antigua In the Warren Capt Burdem arrived at Plymouth from Antigua dated October 16 We hear a capture of a vessel from Philadelphia bound to the island Also the ship Samuel Ross from London arrived Antigua September 3 sailed September 22 for Jamaica The Setters aboard the Windsor Giles from Oporto sunk at Lyme harbor dated November 28 No ships from Newfoundland at that port Wednesday evening arrived Liverpool Hannah Prescot from North Carolina captured by Rencontre privateer of 20 guns 18 nine pounders belonging to Bayonne ransomed The privateer also took the Success and Prince George both Bristol from Newfoundland Their ships sent to France a ship from Taunton was taken About eighteen days since It also took a brig loaded with flax bound to Belfast ransomed for 7200s Another privateer of 22 guns at the same station Cadiz reports El Triumphante arrived there August 8 from Havana with valuable cargo A Dutch ship Johannes Lonna from Amsterdam to Cadiz wrecked on Spanish coast mate carpenter and one gamaa drowned
