Ambassadors report court tensions and European war plans
Private dispatches from Vienna and Paris describe friction at the British court with the French envoy Baron de Breteuil and difficult negotiations over Italy, while Vienna and Potsdam seek funds and alliances. Letters from Frankfort and other capitals discuss potential battles near Gottingen and strategic moves by Broglio and Lusatia, with widespread war preparations and naval activity across Europe.
