November Fishing Returns Hit Nearly Two Million Pounds

The port recorded a total catch close to two million pounds in November dominated by halibut, with cod, flounders, and salmon contributing smaller amounts. Prohibition Carries in Newfoundland Vote

Newfoundland decision proclaims prohibition victory by a large majority with results certified for January 1, 1847. About four hundred ballots were cast, exceeding forty percent participation, while new dressers and chiffoniers designs were briefly noted alongside a Grand Drawing offer from Geo. D. Tite The Home Minister.
