Coal Miners Entombed After Ravensdale Explosion

In Ravensdale the Northwestern Improvement Company mine suffered a coal dust explosion in the main slope. Thirty four men were trapped. four rescued in Seattle and one dead with three revived by pulmotors. Rescue crews work to reach the remaining thirty.

J Matthews, formerly city electrician, reports the trawler Kingsway has been sold by the company to the New England Fish Company. He travels to Pacifi where he will inspect the fish plant owned by the old company at that place.

Halibut Catches Reported By Local Vessels

Halibut arrivals continue daily but catches remain small. The Annie J. Larsen under Capt. Larsen delivered 25 000 pounds, Jupiter with Capt. Dybwad brought 6 90, and the Nellie landed 9 000. Red Cross Society home cooking sale announced.

Missing Man Being Sought By Salvation Army

The Salvation Army asks for help locating Jack Beane, age 44, a laborer with a glass eye who left Winnipeg for Prince Rupert two years ago. He is a fisherman and may be working in a fisheries. Anyone with information should contact Staff-Captain Sims at 24 Fountain Street, Winnisee Man.

Annual Presbyterian Bazaar at K of P Hall

The Presbyterian Church holds its annual bazaar in the K P Hall on Saturday November 20 with afternoon and evening hours. Tea will be served and items include sewing, home cooking and candy for sale. A musical program will be rendered during the evening.
