Petrograd reports March 30 that the Russian Black Sea fleet attacked the Bosphorus outer fortifications but bombardment halted by fog. A German vessel fired on Lebau, killing one civilian and wounding another. Turkish destroyer engagement occurred as the Breslau took mine damage. A pontoon was launched at the G. T. P. Drydock with two remaining.
Mr Churchill outlines naval superiority and mobilization plans as crucial to victory. He cites Falklands action, fleet readiness, and sustained British maritime dominance, arguing modern war demands vast construction and reserves.

The C P R introduces a ten day Alaska service with Princess Maquinna sailing to Skagway and back, first trip arriving Thursday and returning April 12. Cordillera mines near Usk advance with a planned twenty ton ore shipment to the smelter from Prince Rupert, copper and gold values noted.
The Conservative Convention for the new Fort George constituency met in Prince George last week. Six names were considered and Alexander G. Haulton, pioneer trader who came to Fort George by canoe with an eleven year old Indian companion, was unanimously chosen after a motion by William P. Osilvie.

Paris reports intermittent shelling across the front from the sea to the Aisne with artillery and mine warfare. In Champagne near Perthes Bensejour and Ville Sur Tourbe fighting gives one side an advantage. In Argonne fighting continues at several points. In Lepetre forest area the German line held after capturing prisoners.
February statement from the Electric Light Department shows rebates of 4 dollars and total earnings net 540.40 dollars. The report lists 1,038.98 in gross revenue with adjustments and charges described in a Corneli meeting summary.
