Port Essington March 24 A farewell dance was held at the Caledonia Hotel for Jock Smith who leaves for the front. Mrs Kinley equipped the hotel for about 25 couples with music by F Noble H Cunningham J Hapenstall T Hansen and vocalists including Mrs McMillan V Cunningham and Woods. A Japanese Love Ballad by Tomanaga added a unique touch and A Novel acted as floor manager. Refreshments and dancing followed in a merry mood.
