American cavalry crossed the Mexican border near Fort Hancock east of El Paso to pursue bandits who raided Fort Early Friday night. Gen Trevino warned American forces and the crossing was announced by the War Department as a brief expedition with return expected within twenty four hours.
Lieut Col John Doull Assistant Adjutant General at Valcartier camp died in Quebec on Saturday after an appendectomy. Interred in Montreal Mount Royal Cemetery after a military funeral. Born 1874 in Montreal he worked in Eastern Canada military affairs and served in the Boer War.
Surgeons state men are slightly more subject to appendicitis than women. Prince Rupert readers are advised that a Duckthorn bark and glycerine mixture, Adler-i-ka, is suggested to relieve or prevent digestive issues. The Surf Inlet Power Company Limited notifies under the Navigable Waters Protection Act that it has deposited with the Minister of Public Works in Ottawa and with the Land Registry District in Prince Rupert a description of the site and plans for wharves and a power house at Surf Inlet Princess Royal Island in front of Lot 40 Range 4 Coast District British Columbia. After one month from first publication the company will apply to the Minister of Public Works in Ottawa for approval of the site and plans and for leave to construct the wharves and power house. Dated Vancouver May 29 1916.

He will apply for approval and leave to construct the wharf under section 7 of the Navigable Waters Protection Act.
