Paris reports a Zeppelin bombed Calais dropping ten projectiles, killing five civilians while causing minor damage. Reports from Parliament Hill cite bombardments near Rheims and Ottawa, with trench gains at Souain Beausejour and renewed actions in Argonne. The 80th Regiment under Lieut Col J A Hall includes Prince Rupert men.
A Halifax dispatch dated Feb 22 1915 reports Col Peck arriving with his company in Halifax and the 30th Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Force preparing to sail to England. Messages say the unit traveled east from Vancouver in three trains with unity and good cheer as they depart for service.
A city council debate discussed funds for buying a camp kitchen for members of the overseas company. The proposal stemmed from a seaborne contingent that had left, with officials noting the aid in fighting empire battles and praising the volunteers' conduct.
