Hespeler Ont Feb 5 fire roared through the Jardine shell plant destroying the shell manufacturing building and damaging others. Authorities estimate losses at 75 000 dollars or more and suspect incendiary origin. The plant is a total loss.
Reports from shipping circles state the British warship Drake captured the German cruiser Roon after a two hour running fight. The prize was towed to Hamilton Bermuda for adjudication and release by authorities.
London reports the Privy Council upholds the Provincial Government right to levy twelve years taxation on 600000 acres in the Columbia and Western Railway belt against the Heinze estate. The death of Messie McNair, sister of Mrs. H F McRae of this city, occurred at Kamloops on Friday. She
