The Montreal Financial Times reports Canadian railways struggle to attract capital amid cost of living pressures. It notes vast unsettled areas remain untapped and future extensions require large capital outlays, while existing systems must expand to match country growth.

Large oil storage facility for Imperial Oil aims to serve the territory from Prince Rupert. Five tanks will hold petroleum distillate gasoline and fuel oil with direct loading into tank cars for the G T P line. A high overhead wooden bridge carries oil pipes from the wharf while not hindering trains.
A pre noon City Hall meeting of Ald Edge and council members with fishing interests and M J Hobin considered a proposed Seal Cove city wharf for independent fishermen.
