Mr J Barnes boot repairer of Pirie West was riding a bicycle on The Terrace when a motor truck struck him. He was admitted to hospital with injuries. The driver was distracted by a gardener from Napperby and his son. Barnes’ bike was dragged under the heavy vehicle and mangled. Police were on the scene shortly after the accident.
