In Melbourne City Court Sylvia Evelyn Cook aged 44 a nurse of Altona faced a murder charge over the death of Margaret Sarai aged 38 her body having been exhumed for postmortem examination Detective Jones said Cook was questioned about instruments used in the alleged act She was remanded in September to await further proceedings

In Adelaide Frederick Amite, 20, of Garden Street, was shot at Clarence Park last night after arguing with his sweetheart. He was taken to Soria Hospital in serious condition. Police are investigating the incident and conditions of the other injured person remain unclear.
