In Fremantle a four hour waterfront riot saw about 1000 strikers clash with 100 police. Weapons including iron bars, hammers and wood were used as crews tried to damage the liner Borda and the Argyleshire. About 100 men were arrested while ambulances ferried away the injured.
Detectives announced that a registered mailbag containing £1000 in five pound notes disappeared between Sydney and Junee last Tuesday or Wednesday. The note numbers were recorded. The money was sent by the State of New South Wales to the Junee Branch.
E Jefferson filed a bankruptcy petition seeking sequestration of his estate in the Bankrupt Fuper. He was imprisoned in Long Bay for contempt of judgment in a breach of promise case where Mrs Henderson received £2000 in damages. An application for his release will also be made in relation to the petition.

A Sydney suburb crime report says a telephonist, Jack Smith of Tamworth, is charged with murder after a boarding house assault left a woman dead with throat wounds.
