Adelaide police constable W Baddams finds a gold quartz piece worth 412 pounds in his Payneham yard and traces of gold in duck gizzards. Two more gold fragments emerge in another duck gifted to a relative, with Mawson praising the quartz. Baddams jokes about buying an emu to forage for treasure.
