New York dispatch notes the U S Embassy in Moscow changed its diplomatic code after desertion of Sergeant James McMillin who allegedly deserted without leave to meet a Soviet female agent. The embassy halted code use as a precaution.
New Delhi officials deny a press report of a fierce battle between Nizam troops and Indian Union forces on the Bombay Hyderabad border after an attack on a Madri Bombay mail train. They state only a platform skirmish occurred with no passenger deaths or abductions. A second attack on a Hyderabad train is reported by Reuters via New Delhi Radio with no casualties and loot around £250.
Sydney Tuesday Ward, Master of Exe vernal Territories, told a Burwood meeting that there is no fair impartial press in Australia. He said the Labor press waited years to destroy his reputation to injure his party. He did not blame individual pressmen for distortion, noting how reports change at newspaper offices.

Recruitment of NCOs begins next Tuesday and enlistment starts July 1. Drill hall hours from 8.45 p.m. weekdays. Other staff include W Wigley, B Murphy, B Haines, R Thomas, R Cocks, and L Woods. more staff to arrive later.

Mr and Mrs Greig two of the oldest residents born in Pirw hundred donated 12 chairs for visitors at Brook Hospital. Secretary Ms Hosking and hospital guild president Miss E Dunsford praised the generosity and noted the chairs were divided between men and women wards.
