Wild man terrorizes Central Australia stealing firearms

A white man terrorizes settlers in remote districts of Central Australia. He stole several firearms from a house while the owner was away in Adelaide. Lt. Jury hears threat to juryman in Sydney divorce case

E E Kernthe to Adelaide after long Pirie career

Mr E E Kernthe longtime manager of Chas Geddes and Co and noted sportsman will leave Pirie to take a senior role with an Adelaide manufacturing firm. A former footballer rower and lacrosse player, he served with the Australian Imperial Forces near the war’s end and later held multiple positions at Geddes. He has been active in Returned Soldiers and Soldiers Imperial League circles and captained local teams. His rowing wins include the maiden fours Lever Cup in 1920 and the Murray River race of 1925.

Death of Daniel Sullivan Cattle King of New South Wales

Daniel Sullivan died at Pirie on Thursday aged 75 after two years of illness. Born in Windsor in 1858, he rose from youth in New South Wales to join the cattle industry and later the droving life. He married Miss Tremall Picker in 1882 at Adelaide, had a long career in stock droving, then shifted to a successful woodwork business. He left four children and four grandchildren, and was a member of local pensioners and church groups.
