London reports Sabelli, after 34 hours aloft with 33 blind, flew from New York to Rome and forced landed near Lahinch County Clare after engine trouble. Aircraft damaged but crew unharmed. earlier danger included possible sea descent and loss of sight.
A ship from Southampton en route to New York collided with Nantucket Shoals lightship in dense fog, off Rhode Island. Four crew members are missing, three others died during rescue, and the remaining four, including the lightship keeper, were taken to New York aboard the Olympic.
Three persons were killed and three injured when a motor car plunged 300 feet over a cliff near Scarborough this afternoon. The deceased are Mrs Margaret Louden of Helensburg, David Todd of Hernstatee, and Mrs Ethel Aten of Coalitz. David Todd is listed as head and internal injuries with critical condition. Joan Todd, Helensburg, may have a neck fracture. Miss Marjorie Allen survived uninjured. The driver, believed to have lost control as another vehicle passed, drove over the cliff on the lower South Coast road joining Prince's Highway at the cliff foot. The crash occurred while the car was in transit on the road.
Proposals for Douglas Social Credit were outlined by W T Duggan and E H Hergstrom at Pirie Town Hall, with Mayor W H Threadgold presiding. They argued current finance fails amid plenty, urging community control of credit and price regulation to align money with goods produced and consumer power, while discussing potential regional transitions and concerns about national dividends.

The ship to be renamed HLMLAS Sydney in memory of the prior Australian cruiser UMS Phaeton, due August 1935, costing about £2,250,000. The Leander class ship, 7,250 tons, carries eight six inch guns. Details await agreement on armour and finances between governments. The under construction sloop at Cockatoo Island will be HLMAS Yarra.
In Jerusalem on Wednesday a second floodstorm struck Tiberias within 24 hours, following funerals for 19 victims of the first deluge. The disaster compounds the homelessness crisis in the Holy Land as rescuers search for survivors.
