Union officials in South Australia hope a Friday meeting of the disputes committee of the United Trades and Labor Council will lead to a quick settlement after nearly six months of stalemate. The group will weigh the dispute against the likely settlement of the Victorian metal trades stoppage.
Keselring was found guilty by a war crimes tribunal after a nearly three month trial and sentenced to death by shooting. He was convicted of participating in the killing of 336 Italians as reprisals and of ordering troops to kill civilians between June and August 194- in caves near Rome. The sentence awaits confirmation by Gen. Sir John Harding, with similar sentences to subordinates yet unconfirmed.
A Friesian cow on a Hampshire farm set a world record by producing 154 gallons of milk in 24 hours. The animal required six walks to aid milk collection and surpassed the previous record of 149 gallons.

Veresa Maury Twekwell of Clark stigii Pirie Estate pleaded not guilty to December 18 bicycle theft valued at £7 owned by Irene Bowman. She was found guilty and released on bond of £40 with one surety for 12 months behavior. Counsel A Brooks testified she found the bicycle near her home and did not try to locate the owner.

In Adelaide Tuesday, Withur Noble, 22, facing a four six year sentence, was charged by Adelaide Police Court with nine counts of perjury from testimony at February trial of Israel Golovsky. Golovsky was found not guilty of arson. Noble reserved his defence and was committed for trial.
