Man Convicted or Serious Offence Adelaide Court Deliberates

In Adelaide on Thursday Justice Napier chaired a Criminal Court session about Robert Wight of Edwardstown aged 74 who admitted indecently assaulting a young girl. Doctors Dr W Ray and Dr HM Birch advised he lacked proper control and should not be at large, though gaol would harm him. Mental hospital treatment could be possible, but prior assurances failed. The judge would make a fresh decision.

Excessive Speed With Pillion Rider Charged

Roy Edward Scott of Pirie admitted riding a motorcycle along Warnertown road at 12 30 am on March 19 at 30 to 35 miles an hour with a pillion passenger. He was fined £1 with 10 costs, in default seven days’ jail. The magistrate noted the law allows pillion passengers but caps speed at 25 miles an hour outside town.
