In Melbourne Mundas reports that Justice Powers announced next Thursday the full Arbitration Court will hear six applications from unions seeking a cut in tours from 48 to 44 hours a week. Mr Gibson for the Engine Drivers and Firemen’s Association said a 41 hours hearing was lodged but no date fixed for return of the timetable. Justice Powers noted the matter had been dealt with by the Deputy President and stated he would not link his name to the Arbitration Court while the 4 hours applications are dealt with.
