Two Brothers Killed in Traffic Accident Near Craigieburn

Melbourne report: Stanley Welder aged 19 and Geoffrey Welder aged 21, both of Shepparton, were killed when a motorcycle they rode collided head on with a motor car on the Hume Highway near Craigieburn. The car, driven by Mrs Edith Gandon of Geelong, ran into a gutter and overturned. Mrs Gandon, her husband, an 80 year old aunt, and a niece suffered minor injuries.

The 19th prize meeting of the No 6 North-Western District Rifle Club Union opened at Pirie ranges with light drizzle giving way to ideal conditions. E T Martin of Pirie won the B.H.L.A.S. aggregate and Booleroo Centre No 1 won the Thomson Teams Match with a 362 aggregate.
