Clouston and Ricketts set out from Mascot at dawn for a long return flight to London with a stopover at Charleville. They reached Charleville at 6.50 am after two non stop legs and planned to reach England around 2 pm on Saturday. At Charleville they said they would rest overnight in Darwin and bypass Batavia as previously planned.
