Roper Dies at Pirie After Long Union Career

Lambert John Philip Roper, longtime manager of the Pirie branch of the South Australian Farmers' Co-operative Union, died at Pirie Hospital. He guided wheat and farming interests across the northern district for 34 years, led local cricket and bowling clubs, conducted choirs, and served as Master of Freemasons lodges. He leaves a widow, two daughters, two sons, and three grandchildren. His funeral was held at Pirie Cemetery Friday with Rev. D. Annear officiating.
