J F Sutter and wife were convicted of operating a common gaming house in Wharbettas during November. Judge Gillespie found both defendants guilty under the Lottery and Gaming Act. Fines total £50 each with additional costs around £3 16s 9d.
A US naval squadron, including cruisers Chicago and Portland, flotilla leader Clark, and destroyers Reid Cassin Conyngham and Downes, sails toward Sydney on a training cruise from Samoa. About 2,166 officers and men aboard, with Canberra awaiting further itinerary details. He was fined seven pounds with court costs and three days’ detention in default. Tony Devich, a gardener, was fined fifteen pounds for a separate traffic breach.

Real ie McCauley, age 11, daughter of Mr and Mrs A J McCauley of Ronald Street Solomontown, remained unconscious in Pirie Hospital after a bicycle collision with a tar at King Street and Moha Terrace yesterday. She was admitted March 7 with injuries to the head and back and is reported in satisfactory condition under the circumstances.

Solomontown motorcyclist Gillespie was fined for allowing a cyclist to attach to his bike in Ellen street on February 23. The cyclist was towed about 0 to 8 yards before police intervened. a 1 shilling fine plus costs was imposed, with three days' detention default.
