London endures a brutal raid as high explosive bombs hit a restaurant packed with 150 dancers. Thirty are feared dead with many injured. Rescue crews worked for hours as doctors operated overnight amid shattered groups of officers, bandsmen, and civilians, with multiple blasts striking police and public shelters.
A British force advances at a rapid pace toward Haran along the metalled road while Abyssinian patriots move from Burge toward Addis Ababa led by an Australian lieutenant. Italian Somaliland is reported swept of resistance with 21,000 Italians dead or captured as the South African Air Force harasses fleeing Malian forces.

Rev W Curry preached Solomontown evening service and Rev J J Williamson led the afternoon gathering. Choir offerings included Lord God of Heaven He Giveth Food and Praise Our God and King with solos by Mrs W Curry and Mr R Polkinghorne.
Miss Dulcie Routley of Port Broughton won the annual Swim Through event on Saturday afternoon with a measured race, edging Royforte by a small margin. J Terrett was fastest overall, with C Dowling second, and Miss M McManus noted as fastest woman. other prize winners included Gillian Smith and Nancy Scott.
Archbishop Beovich urged that parents and the family have the right to educate children, not the State, urging Catholic schools save public funds. He praised local supporters and warned against state control, saying Catholic education must permeate all school life and that Catholics would defend their schools and faith.
