The 9 oclock remembrance ceremony at Memorial Hall drew a larger gathering for the Resumed Servicemen's League meeting. Mr. W J Odgers led a recital of the Ode of Remembrance after brief remarks. Bugle calls by R G Smith added solemnity as members recalled fallen comrades.
Repeating prior success, E Bairstow won Pine Cycle Club's track meeting at Globe Oval on Saturday. Notable results include Onesmile handicap won by W Shepherd and times by E Appleby, plus a two mile handicap with Bairstow defeating Le Nestor and Rutgers under varied weights. The combined scramble race cited Bairstow and Gaddard in top grades.
Vine scores another single as North Western vouting moves forward at Salturday. Boucher Shield teams win at Crystal Brook with Red and Blue teams also successful. numerous players named including Mulligan He Tucker Wy Wells and Shaughnessy among others, as scores and lineups listed for the Shield event.

Three new ALP members named Lawn Mealees and Hutchens.
Mr C L Davis the sitting ALP member retained Pirie in a keenly watched House of Assembly contest. He secured a strong lead at polling booths, with postal votes still outstanding, as Kyte and Emery trailed. Turnout reached 7,341 from 21,746 electors, amid campaign activity and a returning band visit to Pirie.

A severe storm near Cronulla caused by lightning struck surfers near North Cronulla Beach yesterday afternoon. Ronald Chapman of Penshurst died at the scene. MILWAUKEE Wisconsin Sunday six crew aboard a C45 plane ran out of fuel and crashed into Lake Michigan last night. Hours later there was no sign of survivors.
