Downie Adamson Downie of Uraidla was found dead after a bread delivery near Summertown toton. The overturned car rolled 4 ft down a bank in fog between Summertown and ton. He was 20s and was partly thrown from the vehicle with chest caught on a door. Percy Slater, a baker who employed him, discovered the body around 8 o'clock.

Pirie watersider Frank Dempsey, 46, fell from the tween deck into the hold of the German steamer Chemnitz at Federal Wharf last evening. He dropped about 14 feet and died before a doctor arrived. Dempsey, of Pavlich Street, was uncle by marriage to Ray Stephens who died in a railway crossing incident Friday. He left a widow and four children. The accident occurred about 6:15 pm as he helped remove covers for chute access while other workers were on deck. No witnesses. the last to see him alive was Peter Katavich. Authorities plan an inquest after police and medical reports. He was a Turmer trainee with the Pirie Waterside Workers Federation.
Leonard Smith a 57 year old seaman from London fell overboard while assisting with awning on the promenade deck of the Westralia near St Vincent Gulf around 1 30 am. A lifeboat searched in storm and darkness for about an hour but no trace was found. The ship had turned into St Vincent Gulf and strong north west winds hampered efforts as Smith leaned over railing and overbalanced into the sea.
Violence erupted in Stadicon when followers of Father Coughlin clashed with Rutherfordists. Mounted police dispersed rioters on Broadway. five injured, two arrested. Coughlin’s adherents accuse Judge Rutherford’s Watchtower of anti-Catholic bias and anti Semitism. Father Coughlin resumes public broadcasts amid renewed controversy.
In Sydney on Monday the Federalexecutive of the Labor Party moved to unify factional divisions in New South Wales. A meeting was held to consider aligning Lane and Neffrun stations and arranging a conference to end internal divisions. A motion to proceed was carried, with a later decision on the national register deferred.
