At its meeting in Adelaide, the Loan Council approved a £41,000,000 loan programme for Government and Semi-Governmental works for 1939-40. New South Wales will receive £12,500,000, with authority to arrange £1,100,000 temporary finance to cover the current year deficit. South Australia to receive about £2,200,000.
The adjourned inquest into the death of Ethel Maud Boulger 23 married of Tron Baron was concluded in Whyalla Police Court before Mr W A Bolimeyer. The coroner found Mrs Boulger died on May 28 from complications following an attempted illegal operation. There was no evidence who committed the act.
Sydney reports Kenneth Paul states the Avronson bomber, which crashed at Riverstone on April 2, caused four deaths. He examined it twice on the morning of the disaster and found the aircraft serviceable in every respect.
