Pirie bound train crashes into truck at Bumbunga crossing

A Pirie bound passenger train struck a four motor truck at the Bumbunga crossing shortly after 10 30 on Saturday morning. The vehicle overturned and debris damaged a fence. Mrs Sheila Lane of Bumbunga and her 16 month old son Robert William escaped with injuries to shock and abrasions. Mrs Lane had been transporting super phosphate when slowed before impact. Husband James Lane followed in a wactor and found them among wreckage. they were removed to the local hospital. The cow catcher was buckled and removed.
