Fatal inquest into Brooks murder at Kogarah

William Brooks a 20 year old tram conductor died after a fatal altercation at Kogarah. William Cooper was committed for trial on murder charges by the coroner after an inquest heard statements alleging self defense and a stabbing. The widow Mrs Brooks denied provoking her husband and testified about the events leading to the tragedy.

Waterfront work resumes in Cairns after long delay

City Unemployed March In Adelaide Demand Work

About 190 unemployed workers marched to the Government House in Adelaide. The private secretary met them as the governor was out, and a spokesman said they sought work, not money. They planned to return with a letter. They then moved to the Tramways Trust where the manager promised to place men in any available jobs.
