The House approved by 219 to 155 the British £1,172 million loan Bill. It now goes to the White House for signature. Amendments aimed at killing the bill were decisively rejected.
A hotel manager at Strathibogie was charged in Uroa tonight with the murder of John Thomas Carroll a 31 year old laborer. Carroll was said to have been shot in the shoulder during an altercation at the hotel.
Sydney reports political circles say Me Rete Cases, ex governor of Bengals, visiting Adelaide, plans to contest his old Corio seat at the west federal elections. Corio currently held by minister Dedman.
A soldier died in Alexandria when two naval vessels were attacked during a violent incident. Several others were seriously injured as the scene erupted, with authorities reporting the event and beginning investigations.
