London reports a sudden shift in European alignments following sanctions removal. Britain aims to keep stronger naval strength in the Mediterranean, with Sir Samuel Hoare noting a return to extended presence for perhaps three centuries, while Australia signals cruiser withdrawals soon.
Report states Britain may resist any reduction of its Mediterranean fleet by Italy withdrawing troops from Libya. Mr George Jerbis of Revell street Pirie West is in Pirie Hospital with a broken leg after a horse slipped and fell as he rode home. The rider's right leg was broken below the knee. After medical treatment he was admitted to hospital and enquiries last night said he was fairly comfortable.
Struck by an 11 30 railcar near Salomontown Station, P G Coleman a Locu foreman of Pirie railway yards and Railway Reserve resident sustained minor injuries. He was treated at Pirie Hospital and sent home. Injuries not serious.
