Eye witnesses describe a brawl at a Pirie West ball where Lemmi and Sheridan grappled on the floor. Lemm twice took the lead with blows while Sheridan appeared to wield a knife before it slipped away during the struggle. Witnesses reported blood and a pocket knife found in the porch area as the scene unfolded during the confrontation.
