Textile strike widens to Sydney mills amid refusals

The textile strike spread to several metropolitan mills in Sydney with about 500 weavers in the city area and 1,000 more expected to join by week end. It will halt production and throw around 10,000 workers out of employment. The Textile Workers' Union meeting rejected proposed settlement terms at Orang and Goulburn. Mr Russell, secretary, said Victoria and Tasmania workers would likely take action soon.
