British troops on the Eighth Army front push the Germans back in Italy while Indian forces in the central sector make noticeable progress. French troops with the Fifth Army also advance in mountainous terrain. Other actions are minor with patrols and consolidations. Weather yesterday cut air activity to a minimum.

He also approved orders to produce two million yards of cotton duck and canvas articles for the services and Allied Works Council and over 3 000 batteries of 18 types for fighting services.
