Drowning Cases Reported at Port Adelaide

Two drowning cases were reported to Port Adelaide police. Percy Campbell Inglis, 48, patient at a convalescent hospital in South Australia, and Edward Jackson, a laborer from Cheltenham. Signalman Williamson heard a man crying for help near the jetty at 3 am but no trace was found. Inglis’s body was found later on the beach covered in seaweed. Jackson’s body was discovered in the dock at Port Adelaide at 5:30 am by Horace Moran, with a iron engine casting attached to his feet.
