A fire at the summer home of San Francisco real estate operator Sol Koff in Redwood City Cal claimed the lives of Mrs Lena Koll Howard Kot aged one year and Miss Heyman a school teacher. The blaze left the house destroyed and the victims perished in the flames.

Port Pirie High School staged the second annual sports meet at Memorial Oval in brilliant sunshine. Twenty two events for boys and girls carried school championships for the Leonard Cup with Wilfred White retaining the cup on 48 points and Connie Roper winning the girls title.
