American military court at Dachau today sentenced 22 former doctors and guards of the Buchenwald camp to death by hanging for war crimes. Ise Koch, widow of the camp commandant, was sentenced to life imprisonment and is pregnant. other defendants received 10 to 20 year terms.
In Nuremberg on Thursday United States prosecutors arraigned 24 Farben officials for war crimes. The directorate is accused of aiding the Nazi war machine by coordinating with the high command, stockpiling materials during peacetime, plundering conquered nations, and systematically overworking or abusing slave labor through medical experiments.
