A young married woman wheeling a perambulator was assaulted in Pirie Hospital parklands. Four men pursued the molester who was struck, escaped in a scuffle, and fled after leaping fences and a chase through gardens. Police believe he crossed a back boundary.
Frank Walters, veteran secretary of Pirie Institute and a prominent figure in Pirie life, died after three days of illness at Pirie Hospital aged 62. Cambridge graduate, Australia arrival in 1875, he served in militia, Freemasons, St John Ambulance, and was churchwarden and warden at St Pauls.
