In Sydney this afternoon a sharp clash occurred in King Street between wharf laborers and police after about 4000 harbor workers walked off 42 ships. Sixteen people, including a woman, were arrested as a three day suspension was imposed by the Australian Stevedoring Industry Board.

Arrangements for an improved mail service from Port Germein to Pirie and Adelaide have been completed via the Whyalla Pirie mail route through Germein connecting with the Pirie Adelaide line. In Pirie Local Court yesterday Crescienzia Mezzino sought possession of a King Street Solomontown house occupied by Kathleen Monica Evans. Judge D. G. Richards granted possession by October 10 with mesne profits of 12/6 a week. Mezzino said she, her husband and four children have slept in one room since August. Evans and family had occupied the home for over four years. she is a returned serviceman’s wife. Adjournment noted for another Pirie case involving Salvatore and Rose Minervini.
