Resignation Deferred as Pirie Gulf Club Secretary Goes to Camp
At a Pirie Gulf Club committee meeting, C E Thomas offered his secretary resignation to begin a three month camp on August 13. The committee granted three months leave instead and K D McLeod was named acting secretary. W H Threadgold announced Umpire Bice would be sent to Pirie Saturday. Bice is among the leading umpires of the dengue. W Gee of New Austral Theatre is expected back soon. T E Rowe of the Second ALP is on leave in Pirie and will return Monday. D J Hards left Pirie Wednesday to join the second ALF. W Hoare and C Rogers, Royal Australian Air Force Reserve, paraded in Adelaide to visit Minister J V Fairbairne. Burgess, president of the Royal Agricultural Society of WA, travelled east and will spend two days in Adelaide then go to Melbourne for the annual meeting. A J Loustrom is advancing on Pirie Hospital ward. J Fitzgerald discharged. R Fidge hopes to leave Pine Hospital soon, able to move with crutches. C Lamport admitted to Pirie Hospital after incident near Harris town.
