Charles Benson, a Swede with Angus Stewart's Camp No. 2, was badly burnt in a blasting accident near Aberdeen on Tuesday July 18. He was taken to Aberdeen Hospital for treatment by Dr. Richardson and later moved toward Prince Rupert hospital.

An Indian hunter found a den of young timber wolves attacked by a porcupine. The porcupine killed three of four pups before the hunter intervened. The surviving pup, though quilled and mauled, recovered with care in town. The wolf had been preying on porcupines as wolves do.

The steamer Tees from the West Coast brings news of a coarse gold placer discovery on the Sombrio river seven miles east of San Juan. Claims were staked by H. Gallop while prospecting for coal, and a large number of claims have been filed.
Mrs. Heritage reports her husband Captain Daniel Heritage missing since last Thursday after resigning from the tug Achates owned by Evans and Bernard. He previously commanded the Shamrock for Emerson Lumber and the coal barge Robert Kerr. An old Vancouver resident, his home is 917 Reefer Street.
The chief of police is asked to locate Alexander Graham of Liverpool England aged 40. He was in Vancouver in 1906 then moved to Red Deer Alberta staying until last December. He said he would return to Vancouver and may go to Prince Rupert. His sister reports both parents are ill and calls for news.
