Cyrus Easton aged 49 laborer of Benson Street Semaphore died after a motorcycle crash with a car at Hall Street and Military Road. He suffered a fractured skull and severe head injuries and died at Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital. The car driver was Henry Sharles Samuel wood merchant of Mead Street Largs. Easton once played cricket for Glenelg and was linked to Semaphore Rechabite Club.
The Cornwall heavily laden ran aground opposite the North Arm after a tug towing misadventure. Two tugs eventually refloated it into midstream with anchors and lines, a diver inspecting the hull before sailing again that night. An inquiry by Captain A H D Gransbury followed, as Harbor Master Baddams piloted during the incident.
