Obituary of James Love longtime Albert Park resident
James Love, long time Albert Park resident and Scotsman by birth, died recently at an advanced age. Born July 31, 1842 in Kilwinning Scotland, he worked in coal pits near Kilmarnock before emigrating to South Australia in October 1876. He spent 4 eight years with Port Adelaide Corporation and later with Woodville District Council. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding three years ago. He leaves a widow, six sons James Adelaide Hugh Woodville William Alberton Robert Gavin and five daughters W J Taylor G A Turner W Challinder J J Turner and F Love, plus grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

First Alberton Boy Scouts Form Troop Committee
The First Alberton Troop Boy Scouts formed a 28 member committee of parents and friends led by A. W. Gordon as president and Scoutmaster Coleman as treasurer to raise funds for a troop room. A two day fair on April 23 and 24 raised about £110, with thanks to Port Adelaide Mayor A. O. R. Tapp and Dr. P. T. Cherry for opening ceremonies.
