The Port Adelaide and Suburban Starr Bowkett Building Society seeks return of books and £490 in damages from Richard Owen Evans, former secretary, with the civil action adjourned by Mr. G W Halcombe SM as Evans serves a prison term. Evans has no curator yet. solicitor says Evans cannot instruct counsel. Case postponed until a fixed future date.
Port Adelaide attacked early with McKell clearing a weak Brown shot. Thistle grew into the game, Fern giving Thistle the lead before Lister equalised for Port Adelaide. Price for Gunning scored the decisive goal as the match swung between ends, with McKell and Jarvis shining for Port Thistle and Bob Watson driving Port Adelaide’s constructive play.
The City of Adelaide lifeboat, gifted to Beachport 38 years ago by the Barr Smith family, is converted into a ketch rigged fishing cutter and will depart Port Adelaide on its first fishing trip this week. It has served as a pilot boat and was tied up in the Port River after being displaced by the Edith. The new owners fitted auxiliary engines and altered its rig, with its gearbox and screw previously on the ketch Lottie which washed ashore and broke up near the Outer Harbor about two years ago.
Port Adelaide dominated West Torrens at West Park. Sutherland opened scoring, Shearer added two, and Symes for West Torrens replied with long shots. Port Adelaide led 9 2 at half and finished 16 4 with Her players Shearer Netherton McPherson among scorers while Nether ton sustained a head injury.

Seven youths aged 15 to 17 faced Port Adelaide Police Court after a May 22 incident in Sussex Street Alberton. They admitted to singing, using objectionable language, and spitting on the footpath in a group at 8 pm. Each was bound to £4 for 12 months of good behaviour.

Gaps appeared in sheet piling at the north-western berth No 2 Port Adelaide. A diver has worked nearly two months filling cavities with concrete. Repairs expected to finish early June. Chief Engineer H T M Angwin denies rumors of serious breaks. Gaps about 25 ft deep. Concrete delivered via long iron tube from mixer.
Arrangements are made for a Port Adelaide cricket trip to Kadina to play alongside a Yorke Peninsula team from Bute Kadina Wallaroo and Moonta. The squad departs Black Diamond corner at ten past nine pm on June 4 with a return match the following day. A charity ball is planned at Port Adelaide Town Hall on June 19 organized by secretary Mr C Hayter.
