Six of the Liccione children were charged with neglect at Port Adelaide Police Court after repeated warnings by the State Children’s Department. Officers testified the family lived in filth with little bedding or furniture, while the parents drank and faced unemployment. Five children were sent to the Industrial School. the ten month old remained with the mother under department control.

Breach of Scaffolding Act Heard at Port Adelaide Court
Christopher Warland of Semaphore faced Port Adelaide Police Court for a May 8 scaffolding fault on Semaphore Road. Inspector Frederick Riley found a pole 9 inches around, below the 12 inch standard. Warland pleaded guilty. judge fined £2 plus £1 costs, warning of risk to workers.
