Horse Burnt At Cheltenham Fire Destroys Shed
About 330 am Saturday the Port Adelaide Fire Brigade responded to a Cheltenham residence on Tewkesbury Street where a trap shed and sable were almost completely destroyed. A Mare, buggy, harness, and horse gear were lost as the fire spread from the shed. A neighbour alerted Mr Sansom and the fire brigade, led by District Officer Butler, could not rescue the horse. Estimated damage is about £100. the shed was insured.

Workman's death case adjourned at Port Adelaide Court
Blanche Pollard sues Adelaide Electric Supply Co for compensation after her husband George Henry Pollard died December 18 1923 in an Osborne works accident. Four youths faced Port Adelaide Police Court for pillion riding on motorcycles. Welter Herbert Peters of Largs allowed James Morice to ride as driver along Semaphore Esplanade on May 7. Clem Edwards of Largs let Percy Steele ride on his bike along King Street Exeter on April 99. Pillion riders Phillip James Morice and Percy Steele were fined £1 with costs or four days’ imprisonment.

Bitumen Fire Breaks Out at Port Adelaide Yard
Fire brigade responded to a call at 4.33 last Friday to Port Adelaide Corporation yard at Port and Junction Roads. A large bitumen tank had burned for some time before workers called for help. Firemen smothered flames with sand, saving the rest of the yard. About 280 gallons of bitumen were damaged. Smoke inconvenienced nearby Port Adelaide Public School children, who were dismissed early.

Window broken at Gordon's Tailors in Commercial Road
Thieves smashed the Island window at Gordon's Tailors on Commercial Road between 6:30 and 7:30 pm stealing goods valued about £12. Earlier the window had been left open with keys in Teck. two workers from Port Adelaide alerted guards. No items were recovered and the men were rewarded. Police investigate.

Indecent exposure case against Alberton man brought to trial
J W Chanpon and AL Gower charged after a laborer John Williams of Alberton was accused of indecent exposure at Leslie Place Portland May 18. Two young girls testified to the offence, identifying him at the back gate. He denied the act, claiming he was at his mother's place. The bench found him liable to a term of up to six months, with a £5 fine or two weeks imprisonment in default.
