The Western Association affiliated club held its opening race from Gladstone covering 111 miles on April 30. Thirteen members sent 96 birds. weather was ideal and most birds returned. Winner owned by Mr. A. Wehord. results list 13 places with speeds per minute. Race point set for May 7.

Naval men race cutters at Port Adelaide River
Reservists from the Birkenhead Naval Depot completed their boat training for the season on Saturday afternoon. A five mile cutter race on the Port Adelaide River ended with Petty Officer J. Cathro's whaler crew narrowly defeating Petty Officer T. Poulton's boat. Leading Seaman R. Brown and his crew finished third.
