A 19 or 20 year old cadet Gordon B Pitt, apprenticed to the four masted Port Jackson, died after overbalancing in the forehold while unloading cargo at Port Adelaide. Funeral held at Mission to Seamen Church Port Adelaide with officials, sea scouts, and ship officers in attendance.
